About the Role
A leading technology company located in Southwestern Ohio is looking for a Principal Sensor Engineer. Must be willing to relocate to Southwest Ohio.
Job Duties
- Manage research and product development projects in nuclear and radiation science and technology
- Conduct experiments and tests utilizing instrumentation to detect radiation
- Analyze data using data analysis software
- Develop computer models and simulations to analyze radiation sensors and predict behavior under real-time conditions
- Provide technical support to projects related to radiation — design reviews, safety analysis, regulatory compliance
- Develop technical documentation including reports, specifications, and procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, physicists, technicians, and operations
- Stay up-to-date by participating in industry conferences and technical meetings
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for radiation facilities and systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in nuclear engineering research and development
- Technical knowledge of nuclear materials, systems, and radiation protection
- Solid background with instrumentation and measurement techniques for radiation detection
- Experience with data acquisition methods and high-impedance circuit design
- Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking
- Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge with Ion chambers
- Experience with designing digital filters and digital signal processing
- Predictive data analysis experience with machine learning
